Shanghai Pudong Airport PVG
Shanghai's new international airport was opened in 1999 in Pudong, about 30 kilometers from the city. The airport is China's busiest international airport, and the second busiest over-all, in terms of passenger numbers. But perhaps the airport's biggest claim to fame is the first high speed maglev train to enter commercial service. The train whisks you into the city in just over 7 minutes.
The airport now consists of two terminals. Terminal 1, which was opened in 1999, and the recently opened Terminal 2. Terminal 2 is used by Air China, Shanghai Airlines, and Star Alliance airlines.
